Editorial Policy
Every guide on The Respiratory System is written by our editors in their own words, checked against current anatomy and physiology references, and illustrated with diagrams we drew ourselves.
Research
We work from standard anatomy and physiology textbooks and from public health and university sources. When a measurement varies between people, we give a typical range and say so.
Writing
Each page answers the question in its first sentence, then goes deeper: location, structure, tissue, function and how the part works during breathing. We avoid jargon where we can and explain it where we cannot.
Fact-Checking
A second editor checks every number, name and claim before a page goes live, and again when the page is updated. Pages show the date of the last update.
Illustrations
All diagrams are original illustrations made for this site. They are labeled by our team and carry our name.
Health Information
We describe conditions only to explain which part of the respiratory system they affect. We do not give diagnosis, treatment or dosage advice; please see a doctor about any symptoms.
Links and References
We link to a small number of government and university pages when they add value for the reader. We do not accept paid links.
Corrections
If you spot an error, tell us. We fix confirmed errors quickly and update the page date.
